NQ Rental Cars – Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern all vehicle rentals, website use, and services provided by NQ Rental Cars (“we”, “us”, “our”). By renting a vehicle or using our website, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge your responsibilities as the hirer (“you”, “the customer”).

1. Eligibility to Rent
You must:
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Hold a valid and current driver licence
• Provide proof of identity when required
• Use the vehicle for lawful purposes only
International drivers must provide:
• A valid overseas driver licence
• An International Driving Permit (IDP) if required by Australian law

2. Booking & Payment
• A booking is confirmed once payment or deposit is received.
• All charges must be paid in full before or at the time of vehicle collection.
• You authorise us to charge your nominated payment method for rental fees, security deposits, tolls, fines, fuel fees, damage, or any extra charges incurred during the rental period.

3. Security Bond
• A refundable security bond may be required at pickup.
• The bond may be used to cover fuel shortages, cleaning fees, damage, tolls, late returns, or contract breaches.
• Refund times depend on your bank (usually 3–10 business days).

4. Vehicle Condition & Responsibility
When renting a vehicle, you agree to:
• Inspect the vehicle at pickup and notify us of any existing damage.
• Return the vehicle in the same condition, except for fair wear and tear.
• Ensure the vehicle is locked and secured when unattended.
• Not smoke or allow pets in the vehicle unless approved.
• Use correct fuel type and follow all operating instructions.
You are financially responsible for:
• Damage caused by negligence, misuse, or illegal activity
• Damage due to driving through floodwaters, off-road, or restricted roads
• Windscreen, tyre, and interior damage (unless insurance covers it)
• Lost keys or roadside callouts caused by driver error

5. Prohibited Use
You must NOT use the vehicle:
• For illegal or reckless activity
• Under the influence of drugs or alcohol
• For racing, towing, or off-road driving
• To transport hazardous or illegal items
• By an unauthorised driver
• In restricted areas or flood-prone zones
Any breach may result in full liability for damage.

6. Fuel Policy
Vehicles must be returned at the same fuel level as at pickup.
If not, fuel charges + service fees will apply.

7. Kilometre Allowance
• Rentals may include unlimited kilometres unless stated otherwise.
• If limits apply, excess KM charges are calculated as per the rental agreement.

8. Insurance & Liability
Our vehicles include basic cover under Australian rental regulations.
Insurance may not cover:
• Negligent or illegal driving
• Unauthorised drivers
• Off-road or flood damage
• Tyre, windscreen, and interior damage (unless optional cover purchased)
Customers may choose optional excess reduction packages, subject to availability.

9. Breakdown & Accidents
If a breakdown or accident occurs:
1. Contact us immediately.
2. Follow police reporting requirements if an accident involves injuries or other vehicles.
3. Do not attempt repairs unless authorised.
You must provide:
• Full details of incident
• Third-party information
• Photos where possible
Failure to report incidents may void insurance.

10. Returning the Vehicle
Vehicles must be returned:
• At the agreed date, time, and location
• In clean condition
• With the correct fuel level
Late returns may incur:
• Additional daily rental charges
• Late fees
• Loss of bond
If you need to extend your rental, notify us before the return time.

11. Traffic Offences, Tolls & Fines
You are responsible for any:
• Toll charges
• Speeding fines
• Parking fines
• Traffic infringements
These may be charged to your payment method with an administration fee.

12. Cancellation & Refund Policy
Standard Cancellations:
• More than 48 hours before pickup: refund issued
• Less than 48 hours: cancellation fee may apply
• No-show: no refund
Refund processing times depend on your bank.

13. Website Use
By using our website, you agree:
• Not to misuse our site or attempt unauthorised access
• Not to copy, distribute, or modify website content without consent
• That website information may be updated or changed at any time
We are not responsible for external links or third-party sites.

14. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by Australian law, we are not liable for:
• Loss of personal belongings left in the vehicle
• Delays caused by traffic, weather, or external factors
• Losses resulting from contract breaches by the customer
Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
